Getting Here
Casa Verde Alpine Retreat is situated at Moina in Central North West Tasmania which is at the Gateway to Cradle Mountain. Our property is on the main (made) road only 20 minutes easy drive to Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair National Park. We are the closest single dwelling private self contained accommodation to Cradle Mountain.
If you're flying from the Mainland, you'll probably arrive at Launceston or Hobart. Launceston is just 2 hours scenic drive away. Hire cars are available at the airport and a bus travels regularly to the Cradle area passing Casa Verde.
If you're coming from Hobart, you'll no doubt be travelling through other magnificient regions before reaching us . You may come up the Midland Highway to Perth (just before Launceston) then cut across to Deloraine and maybe venture into Sheffield (Town of Murals). From Sheffield you’ll proceed up through some spectacular country to Moina. It will take about 4 hours from Hobart, depending on how distracted you become!
If you're coming up from the West Coast, the last main town is Rosebery and it will then take approximately 1.5 hours through the spectacular Tasmanian Wilderness area, past Cradle Mountain and down to Casa Verde Alpine Retreat.
Devonport is where you arrive if you come by ferry. Take the highway to Cradle Mountain and you'll arrive here in just 1 hour.
PLEASE NOTE : As there are no shops in the vicinity you'll need to bring whatever food and supplies you require. Don't forget to make sure you have a full tank of petrol.
And there is no mobile phone reception in the area.
The last places to shop are at Sheffield or Deloraine (coming from Hobart, Launceston or Devonport) or Burnie (coming from Wynyard or Stanley) and Rosebery (coming from Strahan or Queenstown).
